Abstract. We will report the fractal property of the burst distribution in the near wall region of turbulent boundary layer. Burst is extracted by the typical technique, V.I.T.A. method and the quadrant analysis technique. Burst distribution is approximated by the defining function and we have analyzed the statistical property of it. Fractal feature is recognized only in the burst distribution extracted by the quadrant technique. This result indicate the possibility of treating the coherent structure from dynamical point of view. We will briefly report the energy dissipation field and the relationship between burst and instantaneous dissipation field.
