Abstract. This paper aims at extracting common factors of art in various areas and scientifically analyze the essential properties of art. We model art by abstract hierarchical data structures and algorithms used in computer science. We try to discover the essential laws common in art based on the "three-step model." What is common in various areas of art is that art has extremely high degrees of freedom and there exist infinite solutions even for a simple goal. To overcome such difficulties, this paper proposes a method of abstracting the common features of art using scientific tools such as singularities.
