Abstract. New quasi-periodic patterns (QP) with decagonal and dodecagonal symmetry are presented. These patterns have also artistic value. Both of them are built by the selfsimilar inflation method. Two kinds of artistic patterns are altogether different each other. A dodecagonal pattern is obtained by simple coloring of the constituent tiles of an inflated one. Since there exist eight types of vertices in the decagonal QP, we could sketch an illustration like animals by tracing edges of quasi-periodic tiles to the direction that we wish to draw contour. This pattern shows a typical demonstration of a local isomorphism.
