Abstract. The self-vibration of a drop of mercury was reported. Various manners of vibrations were categorized depending on the size of the mercury drop and the concentration of an oxidant in the aqueous phase. The interfacial tension at the mercury/aqueous interface and the current through the system were simultaneously measured to clarify the change in vibration mode.
