Abstract. Various synchronizations and related phenomena in discrete-time coupled chaotic rotors are studied by use of numerical simulations. There exist multiple attractors with different long-time averages of the phase difference. Self-similar and complex structures of the basin in the phase space are observed. The relaxation times to attractors of the complete chaos synchronization and the generalized synchronization for the unidirectionally coupled systems are found to depend on the initial conditions in a self-similar way. Similar statistics are obtained for the first passage time of the parameter-mismatch induced intermittency. Large deviation statistics of this intermittency are numerically obtained.
